I attended a friend's wedding back in 2020 and I was immediately wowed by the bride's look. I almost immediately set up a trial for myself:) I immediately knew I wanted to work with them on my big day. Liza and Elena are kind, professional and extremely talented. I don't normally wear a lot of make up (neither do my bridesmaids) and I wanted to look like myself on my big day. They listened to my concerns, looked my inspo pics and DELIVERED! I felt amazing on my big day, and most importantly I looked like an elevated version of myself. My make up lasted through sweat, happy tears, a lots of partying. I have fine hair that doesn't hold a curl very well. Liza convinced me to get hair extensions to help, and blended it in so well I forgot I was wearing them. The person I had hired to do hair and makeup for me and my four bridesmaids, and the two moms tested positive for COVID the night before the wedding. Liza at Beauty Icon responded so quickly when I reached out asking for a backup, and helped to get Dasha and Anna up to speed for the next morning. I was a ball of nerves and very anxious about how it would go, especially since the previous artist had done my trial. It couldn't have been better. Dasha was so precise—down to the last curl and eyelash. Anna did just an incredible job with the moms and bridesmaids' makeup. They all loved talking to her, and felt so beautiful and confident the day of. Both Dasha and Anna were exceptionally professional and warm. I found Beauty Icon on instagram and was already tired of my search to find makeup artists and hair stylists because many seems old fashioned to me. I was looking for a fun and soft look, something more natural with a glow and was scared to look too done up and not like myself. Paulina and Liz were exactly the artists&stylists I was looking for. They were so pleasant to work with and this is so important during the madness of wedding planning. -They were flexible in their arrival time which made the wedding day flow so much better. -My mom, mother-in-law and granda felt and looked so gorgeous and elegant. -My younger sister looked beautiful, the makeup and products that were used kept her looking fresh and were not heavy at all on her skin. -I had a very specific "natural but with a glow" look I was going for, and Paulina made sure I was loving it every step of the way (giving me the mirror, stopping and making sure I am happy). I had the pleasure to meet and work with Liza for my small wedding’s make up and hairstyle. First of all, I had to postpone my wedding twice due to delayed paperwork’s and she was the most flexible person ever, texting me back saying it was all good and that she would have waited for me. She did a classy elegant makeup and wavy hair for me, just as I requested. I remember she asked for inspo pictures and she did the same exact style I sent her. The makeup and the waves lasted a 3 hour long photoshoot in the rain and humidity, the ceremony, more pictures in the heat and sun that came out later in the day and they were impeccable for dinner. Liza also gave me a little bag with all the necessary items to retouch my makeup and hair during the day! She was the chilliest and funniest person to work and chat with, she made me feel at ease immediately, very caring and always making sure I was okay as I started to get nervous. My experience with Beauty Icon NYC was outstanding. My wedding was planned in three weeks due to family health issues. I'm sure as you can imagine, finding vendors in that little of time was a bit of a challenge. However, Beauty Icon and especially Paulina came through big time! They were able to get me a makeup trial and then do even better the day of the wedding. Paulina was insanely fun to work with as her personality is both professional and up to date. Meaning that she is very relatable with everyone in the room and there was always a good laugh going on.
In the times of Covid as well, Paulina was very organized and had safe practices as well. While I'm positive this is a normal procedure for Beauty Icon, it was more reassuring that all brushes were new and clean and that masks were worn. This is something I valued a lot, as we had to take major precautions for the wedding to begin with. Beauty Icon NYC and Paulina were amazing. I would easily book them again.

I booked Beauty Icon for my hair and makeup services for our NYC engagement photos. Coming from Colorado, I was nervous about booking beauty services from afar. I did research for weeks looking for a HMUA who could travel to the hotel where my fiancé and I were staying prior to our photos, and someone who would be available to do services during the busy wedding season over the summer. I found Beauty Icon and sent them an inquiry and they responded in just a few hours! I communicated with Oxana through email to set up our date and time for our photos in Manhattan; she was always very pleasant and friendly and answered any and all questions that I had. She assured me that my HMUA would travel to our hotel to do my services in our room, and after browsing through their photos and reviews, I was sold. Not only that, but the prices they charge for their services will not cost you an arm and a leg, which was another reason I booked with them. I was booked with Elena M for my services and sent inspo photos to Oxana for my hair and makeup that she shared with Elena. Leading up to the day Elena communicated with me via text and I found that incredibly helpful! The day of, she showed up on time to our hotel, got her space prepped, and got to work. Elena was super friendly, kind, funny, and very easy to work with. She used the best makeup products and I was very impressed with her work and the time she took to execute my services. We chatted and laughed and she made sure to show me how I looked throughout the process to make sure I was happy with everything. I felt like a 20/10 when she left and I very much enjoyed my time with her! If you’re looking for hair and makeup services in Manhattan, I cannot recommend Beauty Icon (and Elena M) more! You will NOT be disappointed!

The perfect hair & makeup artist is such an integral part of your wedding day - they help you feel & look your best, bring together your bridal vision and set the tone for the day. As someone who does her hair & makeup on a daily basis, I knew that finding the perfect HMUA was going to be a challenge. Most were either too subtle, or too over-the-top - I couldn't find that perfect sweet spot. Until I found Beauty Icon.
Liza & her team are amazing. I worked with Liza on my hair & makeup trial as well as on my wedding day, and she did not disappoint. She's so incredibly talented, open and encouraging - she made me feel like the most beautiful version of myself, but never hesitated to make any tweaks or adjustments I asked for. My makeup looked perfect in photos, and everyone was absolutely in love with the hair look she created. Her team also did a phenomenal job on my bridal party, creating cohesive yet tailored looks for everyone, and constantly making sure everyone was happy with the outcome. My bridesmaids commented all day on how calming and reassuring they were, how gentle their application was, and how fantastic they felt.
On top of that, Liza was beyond flexible with the wedding day scheduling, even when I changed the start time again 2 days prior. I was referred to Beauty Icon by a friend and I am so happy I chose them for my wedding. Liza did my hair and make-up and from the second I walked into my trial I knew I could trust her for my wedding day. I had a VERY large bridal party; on the day Liza and Anna B, Mai, and Jessica all came/set up early, somehow they finished 27 services (hair & make up) ahead of our timeline. All of the girls looked incredible. I joked that I did not feel relaxed on the day until I sat down in the chair with Liza and I have never felt/looked more beautiful. It was an unseasonably hot day in NYC and my hair and make-up lasted until I went to bed at 5am. Furthermore, my mom never wears make-up and was feeling very “old looking” leading up to the wedding. Liza was transformative, not only did my mom look gorgeous but more importantly, it restored her confidence. Thank you to Liza and her team for an incredible, relaxed morning, and enhancing the beauty and confidence of the most important women in my life.

My bridal makeup was stunning and you delivered on the look I was going for, which was a high-glam, smoky eye, with full coverage and medium contour – which I recognize is not the typical bridal request. You perfectly executed this look while enhancing my own features and not looking overdone or like a stage performer. I also looked like myself, and not someone else. You also did a beautiful makeup look for my mother, who is very conservative and does not wear makeup at all. You gave her a very soft, natural look, and she looked stunning. You also did beautiful job on the bridesmaids and they looked like movie stars. I also appreciate that you took your time with your craft and yet remained on schedule. The hairstylist you brought with you also did a beautiful job with everyone’s hair. I loved my updo and the bridesmaids loved their updos and flowing curls. I also thank you for coming out all the way to Rye, NY from NYC/NJ and getting to my bridal suite on time (9am). For anyone considering Liz for their wedding, she is not only a talented makeup artist, but she is also highly professional in that she is punctual, accommodating, listens to what the client wants and delivers on that. She also has great energy and has a relaxing and calming approach. Even though we had a makeup and hair schedule, no one felt rushed and she even had time for some of the girls who didn’t elect to have makeup, but at the last minute decided that they wanted some eyelashes. Other things worth mentioning: Liz brought me a hydrating mask, which I wore before she started my makeup look. She also provided me with some of the lipstick I was wearing in a small vial so that I can reapply my lipstick through the day/evening. Also, I only did 1 makeup trial with Liz, which involved a bright red lipstick look. I later on changed my mind about wearing a red lip for my wedding, and so she executed that look I wanted on my wedding day without having practiced the look on me prior to the wedding and nailed it.

I used Galina for my hair and makeup on my wedding day and was generally very pleased! She was flexible with last minute schedule changes and arrived on time. She was super sweet and calm and a pleasure to get ready with.

Liz, Paulina and team are incredibly professional and talented. They were on time, organized and ran ahead of schedule which is on of the best things you can ask for on your wedding day. They preformed hair service on myself and bridal party and did an absolutely amazing job. The bridesmaids all requested different and unique hairstyles and they all looked beautiful and lasted throughout the heat during the day and well through the night. Liz did my hair and it was everything I could have imagined. It was beyond beautiful and lasted ALL NIGHT. It was also extra special because we were trying to find a way to incorporate my grandmothers pin into my look and Liz suggested we pin it in my hair and it was beautiful and the best idea! Again- I could not recommend them enough. The team at Beauty Icon was such a special part of my wedding day.

I planned my wedding very, very quickly, and I waited until the last minute to decide on who to hire to do hair/makeup—luckily Beauty Icon accommodated my last-minute needs and told me Liza Ray was available. Less than a week before my wedding, I had a trial with Liza. I explained to her that I wanted a glamorous but relatively natural look—hair down, makeup that would be subtle and complement my complexion (I’m a redhead). I showed her a few inspiration photos and from there she created a beautiful look, exactly what I wanted. The day of my wedding, Liza styled my mom and sisters’ hair—they all loved their looks—and once again created a glamorous, classic wedding look for me. Liza is also truly one of the most genuinely sweet people I’ve met. She was a joy to talk with during the hours we spent together during the trial and on the morning of my wedding. I can’t recommend Beauty Icon enough!

I am so happy I went with Beauty Icon for my hair and makeup. I discovered them through Amanda Batula from Bravo's "Summer House." I was drawn to their natural, elegant aesthetic. It felt very New York. It was very important to me and my husband that I look like myself on my wedding day and not like I was wearing a caked on mask. Sasha, Olga and Anna nailed it. I had the best time with Sasha at my trial, and even months later she remembered our visit perfectly and commented on how improved and hydrated my skin looked (which I had worked really hard at!!). I gave some feedback on slight tweaks I wanted from my trial, and she adjusted perfectly and beyond my high expectations. Oxana, the administrator, was highly organized, detail-oriented and responsive. I was able to share inspo pictures for myself and my wedding party over email leading up to my wedding day, and there was no issue or extra cost with them applying the clip-in hair extensions my sisters-in-law brought on the day. After much research, I found their pricing to be on par with the competition in my area (NYC), and I felt safe in their hands.

As a bride that leans type A, I had a good number of requests I presented her with (including changes between the trial / big day), including vision boards for all of my bridal party, my maid of honor and my mom - Liza not only paid meticulous attention to my hair / makeup, but kept track of everyone else's makeup and made adjustments as needed. She stayed with me the entire day throughout our portraits, ceremony and until our grand entrance, and I truly couldn't have done it without her. Liza provided touchups and ensured we looked perfect for all of our photos, even in moments when I didn't know I needed them! She played a huge role in making sure I was having the best day I could, and I truly couldn't thank her enough. We also had Paulina and Gabriel helping with my bridesmaids' hair and makeup and they did an amazing job as well. Everyone was so happy with the results and we can guarantee our hair / makeup lasted all night long through the endless dancing. I can't wait to work with Liza and Beauty Icon again in the future.
